This product has been tested to the BS EN1177 standard. I t combines the decorat ive qual i t ies of a natural mulch, providing an attract ive f inish to beds and borders, wi th the shock- absorpt ion and cushioning character ist ics of a product cert i f ied for use in play areas. We would suggest increas ing thi s to 20cm (8” ) around higher r i sk areas such as cl imbing f rames , swings or s l ides . For beds and borders , spread Hardwood Play Chips to a depth of 2.5cm-5cm (1 ″ -2″ ) . The minimum depth to gi ve ef fect i ve weed suppress ion i s 5cm (2″ ) wi thout a weed bar r ier.
